Latte art

A couple of Saturdays ago I got to be a judge at Coal Creeks "Barista Jam!" What fun we had! They had baristas from all over Colorado and Wyoming there. The latte art was amazing and beautiful. I have been trying to do some latte art myself. So far I have mistakenly made some hearts and ghosts!

Storm of Leaves

It is a chilly morning! On my way to work I was caught in a storm of leaves. The wind brushed the tops of the trees and let loose a cascade of leaves which was beautiful to watch and amazing to be in the midst of. With the dusting of snow we had over the weekend we know winter is edging closer, yet the abundance of leaves still on the trees reassure us we still have plenty of fall. This weather brings out the baker in me. Last night I made chili and we had caramel apples for dessert. Today I'm firing up the oven at the store to bake some bread. First, the espresso machine is calling to me to create a new weekly special.
